Lafeak News–Ten members of Rede Kreatividade Fotografu (REKREATIF) are currently attending an online workshop for two weeks. The workshop is conducted by Toeingam guptabutra and three other facilitators from Thailand and Japan. Six out of those ten members is selected to join another one week exhibition as a workshops’ closing session in Thailand.
“Before the exhibition, ten of us as members of REKREATIF are now attending two weeks online workshop. During the workshop we learn about travel photography, landscape photography, culture photography, documentary photography, portrait photography, still photography and food photography,” REKREATIFs representative Acacio Pinto said via whatSapp, Saturday (13/03/2021)
He added, the six members of REKREATIF who are going to participate the exhibition in Thailand are Basílio Gomes da Silva, Silvestre Rudiyanto Soares, Silvestre Pires Castro, Rofino Leandro Ferreira, Acacio Pinto and Ney and Ney is the training coordinator.
On the other hand, through press release that Lafaek news has accessed, stated that the Faculty of Painting, Sculpture and Graphic Arts, Silpakorn Universrity in collaboration with The Royal Photographic Society of Thailand organises “A Photography Workshop for Young Timorese Photographers” (online) between 1 and 22 March 2021. This workshop is supported by The Japan Foundation Asia Centre that promotes a cultural collaboration among Japan, Thailand, and Timor-Leste.
Rede Kreatividade Fotografu or REKREATIF is a group of young people who love photography and gather together on social media ‘Facebook’. There are 17,000 members sharing photographs of people, culture, and nature of Timor-Leste, and exchanging photographic techniques and experiences.
“The founders of REKREATIF have a great enthusiasm. They want to pursue their career paths as the first group of fine art and commercial art photographers in Timor-Leste. They asked Silpakorn University to organize a photography workshop for them,” press release stated
But anyway, the COVID pandemic postponed the workshop twice. The restrictions of cross-border travelling from Timor-Leste to Thailand of which distance is 7,610 kilometers made the organizers and REKREATIF arrive at a new decision: making the workshop online.
Finally they have met a solution, even though online. REKREATIF participants are currently developing their photography project under the guidance of Dow Wasiksiri and Wannapong Surarochprajak along with an online coordinator, Ornin Reungwattanasuk
“Please be patient. We will see photographs by REKREATIF soon at PSG Art Gallery, the Faculty of Painting, Sculpture and Graphuc Arts, Silpakorn Univesrity, Bangkok, at 10:00 to 18:00 from 1 to24 April 2021, Closed on Saturdays and Sundays, and public holidays,” stated in press release
